Primary Bucket wheels

PSS Series

PSS Series Primary bucket wheels are used for the treatment of san slurry coming from suction dredgers. They are suitable for treating materials very rich in fines and with gradation not exceeding 80 mm and do not require, upstream, rotating screens to control the input size.

In presence of materials rich in sand and small gradation gravels, they are therefore able to be directly fed by the suction dredger discharge pipe, simplifying the system required, with a significant reduction in installation costs.

The ease of use and the reduced maintenance required, make it the ideal machines to manage the flow from dredgers.

Main construction specifications

- Main tank
steelwork made and equipped with a strong support base and a rapid drainage pipe located on the bottom. For transport purposes, the settling tank is divided into three sections, bolted together, normally assembled on site.

- 2 separate wheels
the two bucket wheels are completely indipendent eachother and moved by two separate motor sets. Ad the large dimension of wheels, they are separate in sections and assembled on field.

- Buckets
each wheel supports 24 buckets, bolted on, interchangeable, made in urethane with elliptical discharge openings.

- Discharge overflow lips
where the waste waters exit the system, are designed for a long envelope so that the water speed at discharge is lovered below teh turbidity speed, helping the lamination of flow and increasing the sedimentation of fines.

- Motor block
made by two separate groups, each containing a motor and an hydraulic joint, pulleys, vee belts and planetary gearbox (oil lubricated).

- Load hopper
steelwork made, full lined with abrasion resistant steel (HB500), bolt-on style and interchangeable.

- Lubrication
grease
